Besides that the land is famous for its biblical stories, there are interesting places off the beaten path all over Israel - you can travel to explore ancient sites and excavations, enjoy hidden beaches, see trees that have been growing for over 5000 years, hike along the various hiking tracks throughout the Yehuda and Negev deserts, observe lots of weird and unusual hats in Jerusalem, and wonder at the amazingly different climate zones in such a small country.
